Personal Statement
As a mature student I will be completing my BA Hons Art Practice in June 2012. I currently work with a range of ages in a variety of settings. I assist in the 1st year ceramics course and. work at The Museum of Welsh life as a pottery instructor. Volunteering in the community at a local school arts club activity is extremely fulfilling and I have developed a wide variety of personal contacts. I have a wealth of design knowledge and skills including animation, interior design and ceramics. I now feel ready to move into newer challenges incorporating my art practice and utilising my technical, teaching and managerial skills.

years of Animation exhibition October 2012
Organising a three venue exhibition liaising with curators and professionals in the animation industry. Conducting research which involved site visits to all venues and other museums and gathering information on methods of display and interactive materials.
May 2011 Ceramics Tutor. National Museum Of Wales, St Fagans
Teaching the general public, how to throw a pot. Working to a tight schedule in a restricted time limit using four wheels simultaneously. This required decision-making and assessment in order to prioritise the needs of each individual. Support was provided to individuals with varying levels of practical ability in order to achieve a finished product of a good standard.

Professional gallery. Networked with professionals and developed
contacts in a variety of venues. Organised a fund raising committee
and managed the budget. Managed the funds for publicity, the launch event and the exhibition. Marketing the event through press releases and a targeted guest list.

Interior Design Employment History
I learnt a wealth of practical skills from this job as it covered many aspects outside my designer skillset dealing with customer relations. It was very different from working in a studio environment. It involved project managing full house transformations, managing my own time and appointments.

- As a professional interior designer and animation designer I have Initiated original designs. Liaising with companies and have simultaneously led and managed staff here and abroad.
- Confident communication and presentation skills when pitching for a contact through to all aspects of a films production and interior based projects.
- Managing schedules I prioritise my own work and that of others, and run numerous projects simultaneously. I assess the needs and the support required of individual students at the museum, junior school and University.
- Maintaining a ceramic and animation studio, budgeting, purchasing and shipping materials, and also responsible for the preparation of materials working without supervision.
- Ability to interview and assess work of potential art department members.
- Excellent time management skills managing over 100 people at the Museum a day throwing a pot. Working long hours to very strict deadlines, I can remain unfazed and function under pressure.
Volunteering

Assisting in the ceramic module for the 1st year BA Hons, Art Practice. Preparing materials ready for the students, interacting and assisting in a studio environment. Capturing the students imagination through exploratory use of a variety of materials so that they can go on to confidently work on their own.
2006-Present Llysfaen Primary School Running a weekly after school arts club at for up to 30 children age 8-9 .
2000 -2004 Llysfaen Primary School.Chair of PTA running monthly committee meetings,organising fundraising activities from school fetes to Charity Balls with sponsorship and marketing to raising over £10,000 a year.
